Privacy Policy

What BunnyChat collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can require us to do with it.

Anything you publish publicly — your profile page, videos, posts and comments — can be picked up by search engines. Deleting it here does not immediately clear it from their caches.

1. Who this covers

This policy applies to everyone who uses BunnyChat — the website at https://bunnychat.live, the mobile apps, and every service reached through them. Using BunnyChat means you have read this page. If you disagree with anything described here, stop using the service.

One thing worth being blunt about up front: how much data we hold depends entirely on how far into the product you go. Opening the landing page and starting a match is close to anonymous. Creating an account, publishing a profile, posting content or paying for anything moves you into the sections below, and those are the sections that matter.

2. What we collect

2.1 Things you hand us directly

  • Account details. Email address, username, display name, password, and whatever optional profile fields you fill in — avatar, bio, date of birth, gender.
  • Things you publish. Videos, photos, posts, comments, messages, and any other content you put on the platform.
  • Things you send us. Messages to other users, support tickets, and any feedback you write in.
  • Payment details. If you buy something, we take billing details and transaction records. Card processing runs through third-party providers — we never store a full card number.

2.2 Things collected automatically

  • Device. Device type, operating system, browser, unique device identifiers, mobile network information.
  • Usage. Which pages you open, which features you touch, how you interact with content, how long you stay, and the URL that referred you.
  • Location. Approximate location derived from your IP address, or more precise device location if you explicitly allow it.
  • Logs. Server-side records of IP address, access times and system activity.

2.3 Things other services tell us

  • Social sign-in. Signing in through a provider such as Google or Apple can pass us your name, email address and profile picture.
  • Analytics partners. We may receive aggregated or anonymised usage data that helps us understand how the platform is used.

3. What we do with it

  • Run the service. Operate the platform, process transactions, and deliver the features you ask for.
  • Personalise it. Shape recommendations, match suggestions and interface preferences around you.
  • Talk to you. Service notifications, replies to your questions, customer support.
  • Keep it safe. Detect and stop fraud, abuse, and breaches of our terms and community guidelines.
  • Improve it. Analyse usage patterns to fix bugs and build new features.
  • Meet legal obligations. Comply with the law, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, property and safety of our users and the public.

4. Public versus private

BunnyChat has a social side, and some of what you provide is designed to be seen. Here is the split, field by field.

FieldVisibilityWhere it shows up
Nickname / display nameCan be publicYour public profile and next to anything you post.
Profile photoCan be publicYour profile, and beside your posts and comments.
Public profile pageCan be publicReachable at your own profile URL; search engines may index it.
Videos and postsCan be publicVisible to everyone once published; may appear in search results.
Blog contentCan be publicPublished articles are open to anyone and may be indexed.
CommentsCan be publicShown alongside whatever you commented on.
Email addressPrivateNever shown publicly. Used for verification and contacting you.
Phone numberPrivateNever shown publicly. Used for account security if you provide it.
PasswordNever sharedEncrypted at rest. Not visible to anyone, our staff included.

Think before you publish. Once something is public it can be viewed, shared and indexed. You can delete it whenever you like, but cached copies may sit in search results or third-party services for a while afterwards.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies in three roles:

  • Essential — authentication, security and session handling. The platform does not work without these.
  • Performance — anonymous usage data that shows us how visitors move through the site.
  • Functional — remembering preferences such as language and display options.

Your browser controls all of them. Most browsers can block or delete cookies — check their help pages for how. Turning off the essential ones will break parts of the platform.

6. Who else sees it

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only here:

  • When you tell us to. You explicitly authorise a specific disclosure.
  • Service providers. Vendors who help us run the platform — hosting, payment processing, analytics — under confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal demands. Where law, regulation, legal process or a governmental request requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of BunnyChat, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. In a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, your information may move with the business.
  • Aggregated data. Anonymised data that cannot reasonably be traced back to you.

7. How long we keep it

We hold personal information for as long as we need it to run the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

  • Active accounts. Kept for as long as the account is active.
  • Deleted accounts. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where the law requires us to keep it.
  • Published content. Public content that others have already seen or interacted with may be kept in anonymised form after your account is gone.
  • Legal holds. Some records are kept longer to satisfy legal, tax or regulatory requirements.

8. What you can make us do

Depending on where you live, you may be able to require any of the following:

  • Access — a copy of the personal information we hold on you.
  • Correction — fixing anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Deletion — erasure of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Portability — a machine-readable copy you can take elsewhere.
  • Opt-out — unsubscribing from marketing at any time, via the link in our emails or your notification settings.
  • Restriction — limiting how we use your data in certain circumstances.

To use any of these, email [email protected]. We reply within a reasonable timeframe and in line with the law that applies to you.

9. Age

BunnyChat is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18 — or under whatever higher minimum age applies where you live — and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below that age.

If we find that we have collected data from someone underage, we delete it as quickly as we can. If you believe an underage person has given us their information, tell us at [email protected].

10. How we protect it

We apply technical and organisational measures against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure and destruction:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing
  • Access controls and authentication mechanisms
  • Storage on industry-standard infrastructure
  • Staff training on data protection

None of that makes anything perfectly safe — no internet transmission or electronic storage ever is. Use a strong, unique password and be careful about what personal information you share.

11. Third-party services and links

The platform links out to sites and services we do not run, and this policy does not cover them. Read their privacy policies before you use them.

We integrate third parties for:

  • Social login and sharing
  • Payment processing
  • Analytics and performance monitoring
  • Content delivery and hosting

12. Changes to this policy

We revise this policy when our practices or the law change. The Last updated date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the platform. Continuing to use BunnyChat after a change means you accept the revised policy.

13. Contact
